Survivor HvsV Week 3 post game
Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 1:08PM WARNING THE PLAYER VOTED OUT WILL BE DISCUSSED IN THE LAST PARAGRAPH!
It’s week three on Survivor and it’s the villain’s turn to take one on the chin, the heroes have regrouped at little but are still very fragmented. The fallout from Stephanie’s ouster last week has revealed that JT is not playing the honorable game that is expected out of him. He surprisingly continues to stir the pot at the heroes camp that my have some longer range ramifications for the heroes. Meanwhile over at villain’s camp Boston Rob and Coach are becoming concerned about Russell and his alliance with Parvati. Of course, Russell is up to his old tricks of spending confusion and chaos. We’re a little late on our review this week, sometimes life gets in the way of even Survivor so let’s dive for some spoilers of this week's battle of god and evil.
Upon returning to camp, JT tries to makes good with Tom saying that Stephanie got caught up in a numbers game and lost out. Tom is sharply not buying this and realizes JT sold him out, he and Colby discuss that they were foolish to think everyone would play fair on the heroes team. This is ironic since Tom has been targeting Cirie and Amanda since hitting the ground here. Meanwhile Rupert says the heroes need to come together and bond or else they will keep losing. Again it all a matter of point of view, Rupert was the main source spreading discontent against strong physical player Stephanie because she wasn’t good for “his game”. The heroes get and opportunity to come together and catch a wild chicken successfully and Rupert proclaims them untied. Sorry Rupert there is a bigger crack in your team than one chicken will fix. Rupert as twice before seems unaware to the behind the scenes game play that is the meat of Survivor.
Over at villains camp Boston Rob has scoped out the alliance that have formed and tell us from personal experience (and he should know he married Amber) that you can tell who is align by who the cuddle up and sleep with at night in Survivor. You don’t sleep on top of whom you are going to vote out. Parvati is as close to Russell as she can get and is freely giggly the night away with him. Danielle is close by also so they seem to have formed a tight threesome for now. Rob is also concerned that Coach and Jerri have teamed up and seem to actual have a love connection, which I find cute for some reason despite Coach being a total jackass. I’m not sure who Rob is aligned with right now, he seems to be working with Coach and Jerri but he also seems to be on his own. He is popular with the entire group right now because he works but he better be aware that if he’s not in a solid alliance as he appears not to be right now that his days could be numbered. Coach and Rob try to pull Russell aside to warn him about teaming too tightly with Parvati and how it could put a focus on him at tribal. King Russell is having none of it and has set his sights on getting rid of both Rob and Coach. Parvati is using her feminine wiles to good use to keep all the men in line with her plans. This got her branded a villain but I just think it is intelligent game play her. She’s using her looks to her advantage to get her further in the game. What Courtney Sandra and Tyson are up to has yet to really seen.
Two other things of note occur before the challenge; Russell’s chaos theory comes in effect as he decides to bury their only machete that causes grief. While at the heroes’ camp JT realizes that Candice is too strategic player after talking to her and sets about spreading the false rumor that she is looking to oust Cirie. This spreads like wildfire in the heroes’ camp and gets back to Candice via Cirie that someone told her that Candice is targeting her. This cause Candice to freak and question everyone she can which makes her look weak and casts her in bad light with the team. Mission accomplished JT, your villainess game play has work again and may have fractured any temporary alliance Candice had with Cirie. JT seems in it to win it again, and may cause even further fractures in the heroes’ camp.
It’s immunity challenge time and the heroes and the villains square off to see who can push each other off a platform with a cushion into the mud and the first team to 8 wins. Tom has done this challenge in his season and quickly shows the villains how it is done by bull rushing Russell into the mud. Not much to say about this challenge since the heroes seem to have their anger up and channel it in every villain they face. Villains go flying off the platform into the mud time after time. The only two bouts are close; Coach thinks he beats Rupert by pushing him off but takes his hand off of the cushion, which results in replay. Coach is angry at Probst but Jeff tells him to take it out on the Pirate Rupert but to no avail. Rupert regroups and dumps Coach in the mud. In another match Amanda slips on the mud on the platform early against Danielle but somehow holds on turns the table and dumps the villain. Heroes are up 7-0. Our final match is James vs. Randy which is no match as James shoves Randy off in one push which brings jeers from the villains tribe due to there age difference and strength difference. One of the girls Courtney I think jeers “I told you were on the wrong team James”. It’s a shut out and the villains are headed to tribal for the first time.
The usual scrambling occurs at Villain’s camp, and there is much discussion about how dangerous Parvati is and how she is doing little work and sunning herself while charming every male in camp. I’m surprised that none of the other women are rankled by this besides Jerri. Survivor’s original villainess says she just wants to punch Parvati in the face every time she see her. Much of the focus is on Randy being the weak link due to age, but Randy pleads his case to Coach that if they let Parvati get to the merge she has allies like James, Cirie and Amanda to work with against them. He is correct; I believe that Parvati is the most dangerous player in the game right now. However I know that Cirie and James still hold a grudge against and would love to use her then oust her. Amanda might be her only true ally over there but she has been two final tribal and come up empty and is a very cunning player. If she can survive to the merge I’m sure she would work with Parv but would also look to get rid of her to advance to herself. When Rob asks Sandra whom they are voting for, she gives typical Sandra answer “ As long as it’s not me I don’t care who goes, I’ll vote with the majority. It got her one victory by staying low profile, and it might get another since she is dangerous social player like Cirie. Coach says he’s only honorable man out here and vows to fight for Randy with his last breath.
It’s time for tribal, and lot of attention is focused on Parvati and how dangerous it would be to get her get to the merge. Randy is also discussed because of his age and usefulness to the team. Probst keeps probing looking for a weak spot and then asks a simple question of “who is leading this tribe?” to Sandra. When Sandra mentions that Coach often gives orders and then disappears when actual work is to be done, this sets of the martyr in Coach and he overreacts and telling her to write his name down tonight. Voting comes and it’s almost a clean sweep, and although Pavarti thinks it’s down to her and Randy, the villains team does what most teams at tribal do for the first time they get rid of the old guy Randy. So things have pretty much followed Survivor form so far, Sugar was ousted because she was the annoying young person and Randy was taken out because he was old. Only Stephanie’s early departure was a surprise. A strange vote comes up for Rob that I think is from Russell to spread discontent but is actually a parting shot from Randy. The villains have allowed the most dangerous player in the game Pavarti to stay, and that could hurt them long run. We’ll see how far those pretty smiles and rocking body will get her this time.
