tech tuesday what we've learned

Mr. Analog has had to learn a lot of things in about 7 days and here’s a list of just a few.

He learned that he needed DNS services, and still doesn’t know quite what that is. But he’s got it.

This caused him to go with Nettica instead of Godaddy despite his love of Danica Patrick, because he couldn’t find anything on their site about it.

That while he thought he was being clever by naming his site analog-inadigitalworld, he was really being stupid because no one knows what that means, or what his site is about from that name.

Doesn’t know what cloud tags are or why he needs them?

That getting people to write about things they love is harder than he thought.

Convincing people that you can design a nice looking website for them is harder than he thought, too.
Which surprises him, because he thinks his website already looks better than 75% of the business ones he has seen on the internet.

We don’t know what we did on November 13, but 27 robots came to look at it.

Yahoo and Ask.com have looked at us but not found us.

That Mr. Analog friends don’t understand Digg.com. What is, or how to use it. Even though it is so easy Mr. Analog can do it.

Mr. Analog also misses his old internet handle of Maximumjla because it was easier to type Max, than Mister period Anolog 17 times in a story,

That Mr. Analog is talking about himself in the third person too much and should stop.

Comedy pieces like this are easier to write than ones plugging other web sites.

His muse does not speak to him when writing these, but she was singing to him during the tolerance blog.

His muse may have left him, like every other woman in his life.

That he has some sort of brain disorder and it’s worse than he thought. But a new keyboard helps and so does not writing is 2x4 square interface.

That he might be addicted to watching his traffic overview, to see how many of you are looking at his site.

Wants to know WTF kind of browser is KHTML? And who viewing running Linux?

That this site has been viewed via an iphone and a play station 3. And wow, that’s techy.

That he has six good friends that he can depend on. He knew this, but this weekend confirmed it.

That some old friends he’d lost touch with, and found again on facebook are still with him.

That he also has some very good friends who he only knows by their screen name and words on a page and their customs. And they have his back, too.

That he should stay away from Newsarama, but he can’t because he needs to leech off their traffic.

that Kyle Rayner can’t die every week to drive traffic to his site.

That before he can get on twitter he need to understand tiny urls. He got one for you entitled  tiny url oh shit!

And finally...

He now understands why they say write ahead before you start a blog so you can have some down time.
